Strategies and TacticsEdit
Balrog's Corpse Explosion can be a very good thing for hard-to-beat stages in the Gauntlet. If you are facing a powerful enemy that has a lot of revive and recycle cards; let the Balrog rip a well-timed Corpse Explosion to take a card out of play for the enemy. Of course, first you have to put one of the enemies cards in the graveyard! One way of doing that is to use instakill or disposal on creatures with no Stoneskin or Immunity, unless you're lucky of course! This strategy can start out like a tear in a corner, to soften the enemy up. Then send in another wave of creatures to finish the strong enemy off.
Another thing to keep in mind with the above strategy is that we want the hero to survive enough to destroy some of the enemies cards. Use Queen Temptress to fill up the Rage with her Osmose skill and keep the hero alive by hero healing cards such as Oracle. A third way is to use plenty disposable crappy cards, like a suicide deck. Loose the battle by using up all the cards and hopefully kill at least 1 enemy card with a timed Corpse Explosion so that the enemy never get to revive/recycle the creature. Then rinse and repeat.
The main purpose is to weaken the enemy deck for the next fight until you can win the battle with a proper deck.
Balrog may be a reference to the balrogs in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, where they were tall and menacing creatures, able to shroud themselves in fire, darkness, and shadow.
